Global Transport Policy Annual Roundtable Ready To Unveil Critical Components Of Transport Industry

The Global Transport Policy Annual Roundtable has concluded plans to unveil critical components of transport industry and the public launching of Bilinqual Magazine.
The programme is slated for Wednesday, April 24, 22024, at the prestigious Marriot Hotel, Ikeja GRA in Lagos.
The theme: ‘Transport Infrastructure and Strategic Policy Interventions: Building Blocks For Economic Growth’, is expected to capture the desires of stakeholders in the industry.
The Chairman and Chief Consultant of Global Transport Policy, Dr Oluwasegun Musa, who disclosed this during pre-event press conference, also said the event is a call to action across the spectrum of industry players.
While declaring the conference open, Dr. Musa explained that the event is a critical roundtable that will converge the government, industry technocrats, relevant unions, royal fathers, the academia, diplomats, the press and every player critical to the advancement of the industry through dialogue and essential conversation to drive the industry forward.
He noted that the trends and developments in recent times have shown the need for this urgent conversation to foster economic growth in the transport industry.
Dr Musa also noted that with panel sessions of esteemed stakeholders and critical dialogues around topical issues that will spotlight grey areas for strategic inputs for policy interventions, Global Transport Policy Annual Roundtable is on the right path on unveiling the critical components of the transport industry as prime enablers for rapid growth.
He also announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is expected to attend the event, while the Lagos State Governor, will be the Chief host of the event.
In the words of Dr. Oluwasegun Musa: “Our mission is to amplify the conversation, with an excellent transport infrastructure blueprint, Nigeria shall indeed become a continental economic powerhouse because transport infrastructure serves as the lifeblood of our interconnected world, facilitating the movement of people, goods and ideas across climes and nations. With efficient transportation networks, efficient trade, innovations and social cohesion are guaranteed”.
However, it is heartwarming to note that presentations will be made by the Ministers of Transport, Aviation & Aerospace Development, Marine & Blue Economy, Industry, Trade & Investment and Foreign Affairs among others.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Alban Igwe, a seasoned global transport specialist, who will be shaping the conversation around the theme for holistic engagement.
He said the event will have two panel sessions. The first panel session will have critical government agencies like Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to engage on a roundtable discourse titled: ‘Transport Infrastructure and Regional Integration: Assessing the Potential Transport Infrastructure Development for National Integration’.
While the second panel session will have International diplomats from embassies of France, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States, to equally engage on a roundtable discourse titled: ‘Intermodal Transport in the 21st Century: Trends, Developments and Policies in Developed Nations’
He added that the discourse is expected to tackle possibilities for States to engender comprehensive transport growth and economic impact through strategic collaborations to reinforce national advancement.
In the same vein, Global Transport Policy Magazine will be officially launched. A bilingual magazine produced quarterly with authoritative trend-spotting and compelling cross-cutting analysis.
He added that the Global Transport Policy Magazine is aimed at helping local and international governments to shape workable policies and perspectives for better outcome.
At the conclusion of the pre-event press conference, Dr Musa, said that this compendium catalogues global trend, events, innovations, challenges and solutions for holistic analysis, as well as stakeholders engagement with broad industry insight and cutting-edge research.
