NPA Promotes Chief Nasiru, others as General Managers

* Promotion well deserved – Says MAJAN President, Ray Ugochukwu

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced the promotion of seven Assistant General Managers to the position of General Managers of the Agency.

Others include 10 senior staff elevated to the position of Assistant General Managers.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect is in line with the management’s commitment to motivate employees for service excellence and greater productivity.

Among the new General Managers are Moltok Josephine Adar, formerly the Asstistant General Manager – Overseas Office is now General Manager Servicom; Ahmad M. Umar, formerly the Asstistant General Manager Accounts – now General Manager Human Resources; Sheidu-Shabi Khadija Ife, formerly the Asstistant General Manager Environment – now General Manager MD’s Office; and Ngini Chukwuma, formerly Asstistant General Manager Facility Management is now the General Manager, Lands and Asset Administration.

Others include former Asstistant General Manager, Corporate & Strategic Communications, Chief Ibrahim Nasiru, who is now the General Manager, Corporate & Strategic Communications. Odunsi Opeoluwa, who becomes the new General Manager Finance, leaving her former position as Assistant General Manager finance; Mohammed Shehu, formerly Asstistant General Manager Procurement – takes over as General Manager Tariff & Billing.

The Managing Director of NPA, Mr Mohammed Bello Koko made the new appointment, even as he congratulates the appointees, saying their appointment is a call to duty to give their best for attainment of the vision of NPA in enhancing port industry development.

In his remarks, the President, Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, described the appointment of Chief Nasiru as promotion well deserved.

He also commended the NPA boss for the appointment of Chief Nasiru into his current position, stressing that Nasiru has the expertise to head the public relations unit of the Agency.
