 The National Chairman, New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr Boniface Aniebonam, has emerged News Emperor’s  “Capacity Builder of Year”.

The emergency of this notable maritime personality and Freight Forwarding expert was after a painstaking and thorough selection by the 2019 National Bonded Terminal/Logistics Conference Planning Committee (NABTLC) from numerous nominees.

The Presentation of the prestigious award to Aniebonam, who also is the founder, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), will take place during the logistics conference, slated for Thursday, August 22, 2019,  by 11 am prompt, at the popular Rockview, Apapa, Lagos.

This year’s conference packaged by the management of Richword Communication Media Services in conjunction with Association of Bonded Terminal of Nigeria (ABTON), will be used to honour other prominent Nigerians, who have performed excellently in their chosen  careers within and outside maritime sector of Nigeria’s economy.

The bonded terminal category of News Emperor’s award will equally go to best and excellent performing bonded terminals, based on the Planning committee’s strict criteria.

Notable performing and deserving officers of the NCS will also be honoured at the event.

News Emperor’s Business Entrepreneurial Award was constituted by the management of Richword communication since 2017 to recognize excellent spirit and leadership visions among Nigerians from different careers of life, as well as corporate bodies.  The Thursday event is already generating a lot of interests, as many stakeholders are warming up for participation.

However, the bonded terminal operators are warming up for the event, which they see as a way of reducing their sufferings in the hands of terminal operators.

Already, many of them are getting agitated on how they are being treated by both government and terminal operators. “The concessionaires refused to have anything to do with us, the bonded terminal owners. They are saying, they have nothing to do with us. They also refuse to even have a meeting with us and nobody is actually is coming for our rescue.”

On the government’s side, they claimed that they are being compelled to renew their operational licenses yearly without anybody showing concern on how they are fearing business wise.

Raising the alarm recently, the terminal manager of AML Bonded Terminal, Mr Alabi Olakekan said government has been collecting all their dues, even issuing out more licenses and renewing old ones amidst confusion in poet system without even considering what people who invested huge sums of money to open bonded terminal are going through.

According him, “government is not helping us, rather they are busy collecting whatever that is due for them, renewing licenses yearly. In fact, government has tailed us,” he said.

According to statement made available by the organizing committee Chairman, Ruth Sunday, the National President, this this year’s lecture, which comes with the theme: “Private Bonded Terminal: A Key Player in Cargo Distribution And Logistics Management Chain in Nigeria” will be delivered by the National President of Chartered Institute of Transport and  Administration Nigeria (CIoTAN), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, as the guest lecturer while Barr. Emma Nwagbara will lecture on the legal implication of the theme.

Prof. Alex Okwuashi, proprietor Certified Institute of will Chair the occasion.

The programme will provide a good platform for stakeholders to brainstorm on the way forward.
