The Customs Area Controller ,CAC, Murtala Mohammed Area Command ,MMAC, of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS,  Comptroller Shoboiki  Jayne T. (Mrs,) Phd, has commended the Comptroller General of Customs, CGC, Ali Hameed, for promoting 1,997 officers of the Service strictly on merit of their performance.

Comptroller Shoboiki made this known yesterday while decorating newly promoted officers of her Command, disclosing that about 74 out of the total number of promoted officers are from MMAC.

She said. “We must thank the Almighty God for having a Customs Boss like CGC Ali, who believes in merit. Ali stands by merit in supervising the activities of NCS, even in promotion of officers.  He does not discriminate in any aspect. Once you are performing your statutory duties effectively and merits promotion, he gives you without looking at your tribe or language”.

She went on, “However, we should realise that promotion comes with higher responsibilities.  We must be ready to work assiduously and even double our efforts, in order to facilitate trade and generate revenue for the Federal Government.”

The CAC stressed, “We have seen that hard work can be rewarded with merit, for the promotion we are witnessing today. To the male officers, I say congratulations to your wives, who provided a peaceful atmosphere in the families for you to focus on your work. To the female officers, I say congratulations to your husbands, who made the environment in your families peaceful for you to concentrate on your work”.
