Compt Ali Ibrahim takes over leadership of Customs FOU Zone ‘C’ Owerri

The new CAC :

Compt Ali Ibrahim, has assumed duty as the new Customs Area Controller (CAC), Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, (FOU) Zone ‘C’ Owerri.

While addressing his principal Officers in Owerri, Compt Ibrahim, who congratulated his predecessor, Compt Yusuf Lawal, on his successful retirement, prayed for God’s blessings in his future endeavours. Also, he urged his officers to maintain the tempo of anti-smuggling drive of the Unit, by ensuring they record monumental seizures and raise maximum Demand Notices (DN).

He thanked the Comptroller General, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd) for the opportunity to serve, even as he pledged his unwavering commitment to the fight against smuggling.

The new CAC called on officers and men of FOU ‘C’ to fully cooperate with him for best results while assuring them of his commitment to their welfare.

He also charged journalists on objectivity in their reportage, while pledging his readiness to synergize with them for the overall good of FOU ‘C’ and the Service in particular

His words :
” I congratulate my friend and brother on his successful retirement and pray God to grant everyone of us the grace to peacefully retire in good health.

” I also thank the Comptroller General and his management team for the opportunity to serve and I pledge my commitment to service in line with my constitutional mandate.

” May I use this opportunity to solicit maximum cooperation from our men and officers and to ensure compliance with the current import and export guidelines, as well as warn smugglers that with our planned water-tight security, FOU ‘C’ will be made uncomfortable for their illicit activities “.

In a vote of thanks, the DC in charge of FOU ‘C’ Administration, DC Sunday Opakanmi, described Compt Lawal as God-fearing, astute and friendly father figure whose achievements were written in gold and prayed God to grant him long life and peace of mind, to enable him enjoy his retirement.

Also speaking, Mr Joseph Adelaja, an Assistant Comptroller of Customs, incharge of Aba/Eleme patrol base, prayed God’s blessings on the new CAC while wishing him a successful time in the zone.

Also, Mr Ibrahim Usman , An Assistant Comptroller of Customs and OC in charge of Port-Harcourt information patrol team, pledged his support for the new CAC and called on men and officers of FOU ‘C’ to maximally cooperate with the new leadership, in order to bring about spectacular seizures, especially during this ember season.

The event had in attendance, men and officers from various units and outstations under the zone.
