Another historic handover : As Compt Adebisi Emerges New Customs Area Controller of FCT Command
…CGC Adeniyi bringing hidden talents to limelight
The handing over of FCT Area Command, Abuja, to Comptroller Olu Adebisi, is another historic event, as a competent administrator steps on the saddle of leadership.
With Compt Adebisi as the new Customs Area Controller (CAC) of FCT Command, the Comptroller General of Customs, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR and his entire Management team have made the right choice in the deployment exercise, bringing hidden talents to limelight.
The news of Compt Adebisi’s deployment yesterday brought jubilation on various platforms among stakeholders and maritime traders. Indeed, the CGC must again be applauded for his sound judgement, ingenuity and managerial prowess in bringing hidden talents in the Service to limelight.
With his skills in Customs operations and experience over the years, there is no doubt that Compt Adebisi will meet and even surpass expectations of stakeholders in carrying out his statutory responsibilities.
Compt Adebisi fondly called Mr Integrity among his colleagues and associates is well trained in all aspects of Customs Operations. He is a man of few words. Though a quiet person, he is a smooth operator and silent achiever.
Compt Adebisi has equally been trained in Customs Intelligence Unit of the Service and worked as Intelligence Officer (IO) in TinCan Island Port. He has in-depth knowledge of ICT and Customs Modernisation procedures, even as he served as Deputy Comptroller, DC Revenue in Ogun1&11 Commands of Customs.
He was formerly the Officer in charge of Vehicle Seat in the entire Apapa Customs Command. With Comptroller Olu Adebisi, you don’t need to refer Tariff dispute to WCO, he is such a versatile officer, an oracle of sort.
Precisely on Thursday, September 28, 2023, the outgoing CAC of FCT Command, Ag. ACG, Florence Nanu Ogar-Modey, passed the baton of leadership to Compt Adebisi as the incoming Area Controller of the formation. The brief but exciting exercise took place before the watchful eyes of officers and men of the Command, as well as stakeholders.
More so, the tenure of the outgoing CAC Ag. ACG FN Ogar-Modey, lasted for nine months, during which numerous visible achievements were recorded.
Some of her achievements include revenue collection for the Federal Government, ensuring compliance by excise factory owners in paying their taxes appropriately.
Ag. ACG OGAR-MODEY in her speech, expressed her appreciation to the officers of the Command and stakeholders for their dedication and cooperation given to her during her tenure. She spoke glowing of the incoming CAC as a seasoned career officer from Promotion and Upgrading at the Headquarters with a track record of excellence.
She appealed to officers of the Command and stakeholders to work collaboratively with the incoming CAC, in order to achieve the goals of revenue generation and trade facilitation.
In his remarks, Compt Adebisi extended his appreciation to the outgoing CAC and also congratulated her on her new appointment as the Acting Assistant Comptroller General of Customs(ACG). He spoke of the long established partnership between Nigeria Customs Service and the stakeholders to achieve the core mandate of revenue generation, soliciting the cooperation of officers and stakeholders to achieve this mandate.
Also, goodwill messages from officers to the outgoing CAC were full of praises and commendations. Present during the handing over ceremony were Deputy Comptrollers,Team Leader, Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU), Staff Officer General, Stakeholders and other senior
officers of the Command.
