The Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has made impressive performance in the first quarter of 2023, with a huge sum of N212,592,680,700.99 (approximately N212.6billion revenue collected for the Federal Government
The Command also intercepted 720 cartons of tramadol concealed in 2x40ft containers; weighing 10.3 tons.
The seized tramadol valued at N21.6billion, originated from India.
The Customs Area Controller of the Command (CAC), Compt Auwal Mohammed disclosed these details to reporters during a press conference today.
According to him. The Command also recorded 110,448 metric tons of exports, with Free on Board (FOB) value of N70.2billion, which is equivalent to $159,845,232.84, within the same period under review ( From January to March, 2023).
Giving details on anti-smuggling operations of the Command, the CAC informed :
“The Command made seizures of 14 containers, comprising prohibited items such as vegetable oil; footwears; used clothes; unprocessed wood and tramadol tablets, worth over N22billion in Duty Paid Value ( DPV).
