The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, has called on the Federal Government to revoke operating licences of oil marketers selling petrol above the official pump price approved by government.

The National President of PENGASSAN, Festus Osifo, said this
in a statement signed and made available to the media.

The PENGASSAN President, who expressed displeasure about the hardship Nigerians are going through in getting petrol daily, insisted that erring oil Marketers must be sanctioned accordingly.

Mr Osifo urged the Nigerian Mid-stream and Down stream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, to compel oil Marketers operating in the country, to make the product available at official pump price.

To him, the call for revocation of operating licences becomes urgent because of the lingering scarcity of petrol, which is taking its toll on Nigerians.

He said NMDPRA should mobilise its officials nationwide to monitor compliance and ensure that oil marketers defaulting must have their licences revoked, in order to serve as strong deterrent to others.
