In reality, ACG Malanta Ibrahim Yusuf, the out-going Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Apapa Customs Command has successfully handed over the Command to Compt Auwal Mohammed his successor, but the memory of that great occasion will linkger for long in the minds of Officers, Media men and Stakeholders, who graced the occasion.
The commendations, appreciations and goodwill messages, which characterised the entire programme will not be forgotten in a jiffy.
While ACG Malanta, the out-going CAC of Apapa Command expressed heartfelt appreciation to Officers/Men of the Command for their hard work and dedication in moving the Premier port forward; the Officers in turn exalted his outstanding leadership prowess and selfless service to the Nigerian nation.
Speaking while introducing senior Officers on the high table, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Apapa Command, Usman Abubakar described ACG Malanta as exemplary leader, who believes in doing the right thing at the right time.
His words : “Sir, you came, saw and conquered. You even raised the bar in Customs operations in Apapa Command.
“We see you not only as our boss but a mentor, who has impacted positively on us.”
More so, ACG Malanta, didn’t just hand over Apapa Command with huge revenue profile, he also appreciated the Officers/Men who worked diligently with him since he took over in February 10, 2021.
Malanta expressed his appreciation with Awards of excellence bestowed on the Officers for their exceptional performance and professionalism.
The Command PRO was among the Officers honoured with Award of excellence for due diligence.
The PRO and senior Officers in their concluding messages promised to give the new Area Controller the support and cooperation needed to sustain the structures in Apapa Command.
Thus, ACG Malanta handed over the Command with huge revenue profile of over N1 trillion generated in year 2022, which is unprecedented in the history of Apapa Customs.
He also made impressive performance in trade facilitation with a total of $68.5million Free on Board (FOB) value of export. This translated to Naira equivalent of N28.2billion non-oil commodities export, with a total tonnage of 6.4million metric tons.
Within the same year 2022, a total of 157 containers with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N14.4billion were seized. as against 102 containers with DPV of N31.8billion seized in 2021.”
