Customs at PTML facilitates 178,572.13 metric tons of exports, with FOB value of $249.4million

…As Compt Ibrahim takes over leadership of PTML Command 

The Nigeria Customs Service, Port and Terminal Multi-services Limited (PTML) Command has facilitated 178,572.13 metric tons of exports, with Free on Board (FOB) value of $249.4million.

This is higher when compared to 147,578.11 metric tons of exports recorded in 2021 fiscal year.

The Command also realised a huge sum of N229.4billion in 2022, which shows an increase of more than N5billion compared to N224.4billion generated in 2021.

Also, Compt Ali Mahmoud Ibrahim, has just assumed duty as the Customs Area Controller CAC) of PTML Command.

The new CAC urged Officers/Men of the Command to double their efforts and increase revenue profile of PTML.

According to him, discipline is the key to other virtues of productivity like honesty, punctuality and dedication to duty.  He expressed confidence in achieving higher collection of duty.

He expressed optimism that with maximum support of his gallant officers, other government agencies and port users, higher revenue will be realised.

Speaking further, Compt Ibrahim solicited cooperation of terminal operators, importers, agents and other stakeholders in achieving the service objectives in revenue collection, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation.

He commended the excellent records of his predecessor, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs ACG Suleiman Bomai, even as he expressed willingness to always consult with him whenever the need arises

Comptroller Ibrahim thanked CGC Hameed Ibrahim Ali, CFR and his management team for the appointment, with a pledge to work in line with the rules of the service.

Before formally handing over, ACG Bomai described Comptroller Ibrahim as an experienced officer, who is vast with three notable attributes.

According to Bomai, Compt Ibrahim has been well exposed in administration, having worked at Customs headquarters in Abuja for a considerable period; excellent in revenue collection with experience from different Commands of the service and uncompromising in enforcement operations.

The Acting ACG urged all Customs officers at PTML Command, sister agencies and port users to extend the cooperation and industrial harmony he enjoyed to the new Area Controller.
