Kangiwa bags Chinese Friendship Award
Barely a month after bagging the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, ( FTAN) tourism award, Turakin Kebbi and Director General, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism ( NIHOTOUR), Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa, was bestowed a friendship laurel by the Embassy of China in Nigeria.
In a letter of award conferment signed by Li Xuda, the Chinese Embassy Cultural Counsellor in Nigeria, Kangiwa was honoured for valuable contributions to Chinese, Nigeria relationship dating over 50 years.
The Award ceremony took place in Abuja, on Wednesday, 26 October, 2022. The event was attended by the Chinese community, Nigerians and Chinese Embassy leadership.
Nura Kangiwa, the DG, National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism, said the Chinese diadem, will encourage him to continue to explore more opportunities to which both countries can grow bilateral cultural tourism education, particularly in areas of Gastronomic research and documentation.
His words : “NIHOTOUR under my watch, will continue to sustain our relationship with the Chinese community in Nigeria. Since food bears a universal friendship message and understanding, we shall endeavour to encourage research and documentation exchange programmes between Nigeria and china. We hope that this encourage each other to appreciate the richness of of our food culture and in so doing, grow the Culinary visits between us”.
