MAJAN commissions secretariat in grand style

Honours Dr Boniface Aniebonam as Freight Forwarder General of Nigerian maritime Industry

The Freight Forwarder General of Nigerian maritime Industry, Dr Boniface Aniebonam, addressing participants at the occasion:

It was an epoch making event in Lagos, on Thursday September 8, 2022, as the Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), formally commissioned its much talked-about Secretariat in grand style.

MAJAN also used that important occasion to honour the Founder, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), as the Freight Forwarder General of Nigerian Maritime Industry.

The Secretary General of ANLCA, Alhaji Babatunde Mukaila, giving goodwill message. Alhaji Mukaila represented the National President of ANLCA, Hon. Prince Tony Iju Nwabunike :

Speaking during the occasion, the National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Hon. Tony Iju Nwabunike, represented by the Secretary General, Alhaji Babatunde Mukaila, applauded MAJAN for its outstanding performance in responsible reportage and advocacy for a better maritime industry.

He commended MAJAN for taking a bold step in acquiring a secretariat to serve as its operational office, urging its members to do more in factual and investigative Journalism.

His words :   “This is a bold step and highly commendable. Once you can be traced to a particular office, it shows that you are reliable in what you are doing.

“The ANLCA President sent his goodwill message to you all the way from the United States of America (USA), on this special occasion.
We will continue to partner with you in moving the Nigerian maritime industry Forward, for the greater benefit of our great country.”

He enthused :  “This is indeed a great milestone and we wish you greater achievements in the future”.

Mr Maggaji, the representative of NDLEA, urging maritime reporters to do more in investigative Journalism  :

In his remarks, the representative, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Apapa division, Mr Maggaji, advised MAJAN members to take their statutory duty of investigative Journalism more seriously.

Hajia Bola Muse, a reputable stakeholder in the maritime industry during her speech :

Also speaking, a reputable stakeholder in the industry, Hajia Bola Muse, who graced the occasion, commended the leadership of MAJAN for being focused, consistent and committed in its duties.

The high point of the occasion was Award presention to Dr Aniebonam, which took place after a tour of MAJAN Secretariat.

The programme ended with the cutting of cake and appreciation to
invited guests.
