The Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, has said that the presidential candidate of NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will unveil his transformation agenda for Nigerian maritime sector soon.

Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, who is also the Founder, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), stated emphatically that NNPP is the party that will reposition the nation’s economy for greater prosperity and improve the living conditions of the masses.

Dr Aniebonam, a frontline stakeholder in the maritime industry, made these assertions while addressing Journalists at the Roundtable talkshow of Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN) held in Apapa, Lagos.

His words :
“As the Founder of NNPP and NAGAFF, I can give the assurance that maritime sector development will be in the front burner, if NNPP comes to power.

“Very soon, I mean very soon, Senator Kwankwaso will be in Lagos to unveil our party’s manifesto on plans for maritime sector development.

“In reality, the forum will be NNPP’s social contract with maritime stakeholders when the Party comes into power by 2023.”

Speaking further on factors militating against development of the sector, he frowned :  “Just look at trucks parking on Ijora bridge. Is that place a truck park? What kind of system are we operating in this country? Do you think this nonsense will continue if NNPP comes to power and I’m here? No! This nonsense must stop!
We will do the right thing to move Nigerian maritime industry to greater heights.

“Look at what is happening in the port industry.  The whole port system is not working. If you disagree with me, tell me what is working at the moment? Is it the Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding Practice in Nigeria (CRFFN) that they have converted to an agency of government, using it to collect money for themselves? Name it, which one is working?

More so, Dr Aniebonam expressed optimism that NNPP will bring positive changes to the industry.
His assertions :
“Do you think as the BoT Chairman and Spiritual leader, if NNPP comes to power tomorrow and I’m here that all these nonsense will continue? We formed NNPP 21 years ago because of things like these.

“If you want to effect positive change in any system, you can only achieve that by fighting from the inside and not outside.”
