Invasion of Justice Odili’s Residence : IGP orders discrete investigation
As controversy trails invasion of Justice Mary Odili’s residence in Abuja, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc has ordered immediate investigation into the matter.
He directed the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), to carry out a discrete investigation on the invasion.
The Police boss gave assurance that thorough investigation will unravel those behind the invasion on the residence of her Lordship, which took place on Friday, October 29, 2021.
The IGP stressed that the leadership of the Force has not ordered Police operatives to embark on such assignment and is not even aware of it.
According to him, the invasion is a violation of the sanctity of the residence of the Justice of the Supreme Court, even as he described the incident as unfortunate and unacceptable.
In the same vein, the IGP also directed the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to ensure security surveillance around the residence of Justice Mary Odili, in order to prevent reccurrence of such ugly incident.
He emphasised the readiness of the Force to ensure security of all citizens and members of the Judiciary.
