Promotion : Compt Musa tasks officers on professionalism, diligence

• As CSC Uche Ejesieme pays special tribute to CGC, Customs management

The wave of excitement that comes with Customs promotion is still in the air. While promoted officers expressed fulfilment and great enthusiasm for what can described as a reward for hard work and selfless service to their great nation, the Customs management says, “to whom much is given, much is expected.”
The Service says the promotion is well-deserved for the officers but wants them to double their efforts, in order to justify the confidence reposed in them.

At TinCan Island Port Command, it was excitement galore during decoration of promoted officers with their new ranks.
Even the Customs Area Controller (CAC), of the Command, Comptroller MBA Musa, was not left out of the glitz, as he showered encomiums on his officers. The CAC expressed great pleasure in his smile, speech and gesture.

His words :
This promotion is based on your merit of performance. A
total of 175 Senior Officers have been promoted. Five Comptrollers; seven Deputy Comptrollers; 14 Assistant Comptrollers; 11 Chief Superintendents of Customs (CSC); 35 Superintendents of Customs (SC); 63 Deputy Superintendents of Customs (DSC); 33 Assistant Superintendents of Custom 1 (ASC 1);
and seven Assistant Superintendents of Customs 11 (ASC 11).”

Comptroller Musa went on; “I congratulate you all. Promotion comes from God and it is a privilege. Also, promotion comes with additional responsibilities. This is the time for you to do more for the Service.
It calls for integrity, professionalism, due diligence and transparency in carrying out your official assignments.

“So, your promotion requires constant work and dedication in the course of your duties.

CSC Uche Ejesieme pays special tribute to CGC, Customs management

More so, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Command, the great Image Maker, who speaks like a walking encyclopedia, Uche Ejesieme, promoted to the rank of
Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC), paid special tribute to the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Hameed Ali and his management team for the kind gesture.

His assertions :
“I pay great tribute to the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Hameed Ali and his able Lieutenants for making this day possible.

“As you can see, we are very excited, elated, happy and we feel motivated. The reality is that Nigeria Customs Service has transformed to a level where professionalism and meritocracy have become the order of the day.

“You can see the excitement on the faces of all our officers decorated. We are very happy and we appreciate the kind gesture of the Service. I am delighted to be among those promoted and I can assure the Customs Management that newly promoted officers of our Command will continue to deliver on their mandates in their new assignments and key into the change mantra of the CGC, to imbibe the 3-Rs of Restructuring Reforms and Revenue collection.”

According to CSC Ejesieme; ” The Public Relations Unit of the Service has officers, who are very passionate in promiting the image of the service. It is not surprising that the National PRO, Joseph Attah, has been promoted to the rank of a Comptroller of Customs.”

Promotion for amiable Officer :
Also, our Correspondent observed that
another amiable officer in the Public Relations Unit at TinCan Command, in the person of DSC Ngozi Okwara, was equally promoted.

DSC Okwara, has served Customs in various Commands. Before her posting to TinCan Command, she served as PRO, Western Marine Command, the amphibious unit of the Service. Not too long ago, she served as Zonal PRO in Zone ‘A’.
She equally served in Port Harcourt and other formations. This is promotion well deserved for her.
