Police in Zamfara State rescues 16 kidnapped victims

The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued 16 kidnapped victims of Kaura-namoda and Zurmi local government areas.

The Zamfara Police Command disclosed that
the victims rescued from their abductors included young children, as well as women, who were kidnapped along Magarya village, which is the home-town of the Speaker, Nasiru Muazu Magarya.

Addressing Journalists yesterday, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayuba Elkana, explained that five (5) of the kidnapped victims were from the Speaker’s community, while eleven (11) others were indigenes of Kaura-namoda local government Council.

According to him; “Innocent victims were rescued, in addition to many other kidnapped victims, who were earlier rescued following the security measures deployed by the State Government.”

The Police Commissioner emphasised that bandits are now finding it extremely difficult to operate in the State freely, following stringent security measures put in place by the Executive Governor, Bello Matawalle, who is working tirelessly to ensure security of lives and properties of the citizens.

He informed ; “The security measures put in place by the State Governor are yielding positive results, as bandits are now finding it difficult to carry out their nefarious activities in the State.

He also said that the Police is working in collaboration with other security agencies in the State, to curb criminal activities of bandits, and will not relent until the State is fully secured from criminal elements.
