NAGAFF Academy : The Pace-setter, First Citadel of Freight Forwarding Education in Nigeria sets for Accreditation

It’s another milestone achievement for NAGAFF Academy – Says Registrar, Fwdr. Francis Omotosho

In accordance with the overall objective and vision of NAGAFF, to liberate freight forwarders through training, qualitative education, the Founder, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, single-handedly sponsored the National Curriculum Development Critique Workshop for FREIGHT FORWARDING AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT, in Conjunction with the National Board for Technical Education in Nigeria.

The Registrar of NAGAFF Academy, Fwdr. Francis Idowu Omotosho, a respected scholar and highly skilled professional,
led the NAGAFF team to NBTE, Kaduna for the accreditation programme.

Speaking on the importance of an accreditation for a highly rated Institution like NAGAFF Academy, Fwdr. Francis Omotosho, explained that the Academy is well positioned to
promote sustainable freight forwarding professionalism in Nigeria, by educating practitioners on the modern techniques for the business, like what obtains in advanced countries.

He stressed that at present, NAGAFF Academy is doing a lot in capacity building for Freight Forwarders in Nigeria, thereby adding value to the maritime industry through its education programmes.
“As such, accrediting the
Programmes of NAGAFF Academy will make the Institution more strategic in setting the pace for freight forwarding education in Nigeria”, the Registrar pointed out.

He enthused :

achievement for NAGAFF Academy, the benefits of upcoming young freight forwarders and to the entire Freight Forwarding sub-sector in Nigeria”

The Registrar informed : “Retrospectively, it is also on record that NAGAFF prompted the idea of harmonising all the freight forwarding associations in Nigeria far back 2005, via the proposed Federation of Freight Forwarding Associations in Nigeria, which was later unanimously adopted as Council For The Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), that was equally sponsored by NAGAFF to the National Assembly, as a private bill and midwifed by Nigerian Shippers Council, just for the purpose of harmonising all the associations through the readings of the bill at the National Assembly.

“Henced, the CRFFN Act was signed into law on April 30, 2007; to regulate individual practitioners interms of the knowledge and skills, to regulate corporate entities in terms of who is behind the scene of corrupt organisations to expose them. Ultimately, to regulate all the registered freight forwarding associations in terms of their unity and harmonious working relationship.
This is the ultimate intention of the act that established CRFFN and founding fathers”.

According to him, “NAGAFF will continue to remain focused to the objectives, goals, vision and mission of the intention for its establishment no matter the storm inside or outside”.

More so, the programme on National Curriculum Development Critique workshop on Freight Forwarding and supply chain management in Nigeria, which lasted from 12 – 17 September 2021, in Kaduna was well organised.
The exercise, which brought together experts from relevant organisations, as well as highly skilled educationists in Nigeria, paved the way for exhaustive deliberation on how to move the freight forwarding sub-sector forward.
