NNPP will provide Nigerians best leadership in future – National Chairman, Dr Boniface Aniebonam
Says Power is NOT given, Power is TAKEN through legal means
(Report by Udeme Clement):
The National Chairman, New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr Boniface Aniebonam,
has declared that NNPP will provide Nigerians the best leadership in the future.
Dr Aniebonam, made this declaration while addressing party members during the Special National Executive Committee meeting (NEC), held last Friday, August 20, 2021, at Rockview hotel, Apapa, Lagos.
According to him, “Our Party is not only in existence but waxing stronger. Our electoral victories in some States like Bauchi, where we won Senatorial, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly seats; Delta and Ogun where we won Councilor seats are clear testimonies to the fact that our Party is no push over and has a place in the hearts of Nigerians. What we need to do now is to join hands, to ensure that we consolidate on these gains.
“However, our experience after all these electoral victories has shown that democracy in Nigeria is still facing serious challenges, as a result of the determination of some powerful Nigerians to rubbish the principle of the sanctity of the ballot papers, by brazenly denying us our victories.
“I am happy to announce to you that this has not in anyway dampened our spirit to provide this great country with best leadership in the nearest future.
I wish to thank all members of this great Party for their commitment to the principles and ideals of the Party, which must have been responsible for our continued existence as a major National political party, despite many de-registration exercises by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)”.
The National Chairman pointed out; “As some of you are aware, our Party is as old as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). And to the glory of God, the journey is on-going and we are conscious of the fact that POWER IS NOT GIVEN, POWER IS TAKEN through legal means.
“I want to challenge all of us, especially, the younger generation, that after the 2023 elections, I shall formally exit Party administration, to allow the younger Generation take charge of our Party affairs. So, it now behooves us all to brace up for the challenge and start making arrangements for recruiting resourceful persons into positions of leadership.
“We are in serious discussion with the renowned industrialist, Sam Ohuabunwa, to join our party, to fly our flag in the 2023 Presidential election. The essence of all these is to ensure that men and women of capacity team up with us to rescue our country from the doldrums. I know, we Can”.
Addressing the issue of funding, he stressed; “Fund is a very important tool in party administration.
That we have not been de- registered is a function of our visibility on the political scene, which has eaten deep into our individual pockets. We should not forget that there was a time when INEC was giving political parties some stipends. That stopped a long time ago. It means for us to remain afloat; we need to constantly put on our thinking caps on how to guarantee regular in-flow of funds.
“As a first step, we might go the extreme of ensuring that only men and women with capacity hold responsible positions in our party. More importantly, we need to explore and exploit our Constitution to the fullest, especially in the area of revenue generation as allowed by the 1999 Nigerian Constitution, as AMENDED.”
He went on; “We should start preparations for our Convention to reinvigorate various organs, like NEC, National Working Committee and Board of Trustees of our great Party, to ensure that even when I step aside, this great Party will be in good and capable hands.
“NNPP is a movement with clear mission to provide the greatest leadership in Nigeria. Therefore, its leadership must be divine to the glory of God and the Founder of the political movement. The whole idea is to ensure that derailment is duly avoided”.
More so, Dr Aniebonam is a personality with many parts. He is the Founder, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), and a respected stakeholder in Nigerian maritime industry.
Just recently, the Rector, Institute of Transport and Technology described him as a Super Brand, fearless person and a great asset to the maritime industry.
