ANLCA’s NEC Meeting : Expulsion of erring members is final decision – Hon Tony Nwabunike

The National Executive Council (NEC) of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), has expelled some erring members for anti-association activities and deliberately working against the interest of ANLCA.

The resolution was taken at the just concluded NEC meeting, held at the presitgious Marriott hotel, at Ikeja GRA, Lagos, yesterday.

It was a tough decision, as delegates from various chapters of ANLCA across Nigeria, deliberated exhaustively for over seven hours on the matter.

At the end, the decision reached was put to vote, to ensure transparency in all ramifications. 42 members voted for expulsion, against only seven who voted for suspension.

As such, the former national president of ANLCA, Chief Ernest Elochukwu and his company, Nestilo Nigeria limited; Sir John Oforbike and his company – DENCA Services Limited, as well as others were expelled by NEC.

During interview with reporters after the NEC meeting, the National President of ANLCA, Hon. Tony Iju Nwabunike, emphasised that the decision of the Council is final.

His words: NEC is the highest decision making body of the Association. Therefore, any decision taken by NEC stands.

” You witnessed how transparent the entire process was. We have a Constitution that gives us legal backing on the decision taken.
So, there is no going back.”
