ANLCA’s NEC meeting:National President, Hon Nwabunike talks tough

As the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA),
began on a smooth note, the National President of the Association, Hon. Tony Iju Nwabunike, has said that the group is moving forward and will deal decisively with members sabotaging its progress.

He made this assertion while giving his opening speech at the NEC meeting in Lagos.

Speaking further, Hon Nwabunike stressed that disciplinary action awaits members who invaded ANLCA’s National Secretariat recently.

His words: “On June 11, 2021, two members (though not up to date members) of ANLCA came with three Police officers, slapped a security personnel on duty at the gate several times, before they forced their way into the National Secretariat.

“They took away a Toyota Bus belonging to TinCan chapter of ANLCA.

“This behaviour is as reprehensible as it is unacceptable. Fortunately, CCTV camera captured the incident. The footages are here for everyone to see. We are going to take appropriate disciplinary action against those members”.

ANLCA’s President added, “Last December 2020, we elected the new BOT members and just yesterday, they were formally inaugurated.”

Speaking further, Nwabunike said, “Enough is enough. I have been harnessed several times by some members who do not want positive changes for the Association.

“The most difficult thing in Nigeria is change, especially when you are surrounded by people, who indulge in sharp practices. But, as the President of ANLCA, my responsibility is to maintain the right decorum and sanity in the Association.
