ANLCA President, Hon Tony Nwabunike is unbeatable, unstoppable !!!

*His tour of TinCan Customs Command, maritime agencies a smooth sail

Apparently, the National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Hon Tony Iju Nwabunike, is certainly unstoppable !
In fact, he is also unbeatable !

He is unbeatable when it comes to Intelligence, strategic planning, outstanding leadership PROWESS, especially when bringing fresh impetus to bear in giving his followers a sense of direction.

Hon Nwabunike appears soft and very gentle when looking at him from the outside; but his brain works faster than a Super Computer, with the ability to handle difficult tasks, solve problems and even carry out damage control effectively.

As a leader, he has demonstrated pragmatically that superior Intelligence can defeat mediocrity at all times. Hon Nwabunike
has also shown vividly that he has the capability to surmount obstacles that may come his way as a leader.

That was exactly what played out during his visit to TinCan Island Port Command of Nigeria Customs Service and other maritime agencies, three days ago.

Hon Nwabunike and his Exco members succeeded in carrying out a smooth tour of those agencies against all odds. Not even the schemes and antagonism by some ex-board members causing crisis in ANLCA could thwart his plan.
Thus, his tour of the agencies at TinCan axis, which seemed impossible or very unlikely to some people, became a smooth sail, following Nwabunike’s strategic leadership traits translated into action.

More so, the tour was a huge success.
He met the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command, Comptroller M.B.A. Musa, who received him cordially. Comptroller Musa assured that all compliant traders would enjoy the support of his Command in terms of speedy cargo clearance.

In his remarks, Nwabunike commended Comptroller Musa on the way he handles activities of the Command, while calling for setting up of a joint monitoring group to ensure that the right procedures are followed at all times.

Speaking further, Nwabunike formally introduced the Chairman of TinCan Island Port chapter of ANLCA, Mr Ojo Peter Akintoye, to the CAC and his management team, as the right person the Command should work with.

He urged the CAC to use his good office to address issues of multiple alerts, duplication of tables at the terminal and other factors militating against speedy cargo clearance and trade facilitation.

On the importance of his working visit to TinCan Command, he explained:
“This courtesy visit is quite imperative and in line with ANLCA’s age long practice of engaging critical stakeholders in the maritime industry for better service delivery.
Also, it gives us ample opportunity to exchange ideas about the way forward on ease of doing business in our posts.

“ANLCA as the foremost freight forwarding organisation in the country was established by an Act of Parliament, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 1954.
Since then, ANLCA has been collaborating with Nigeria Customs to grow the nation’s economy by ensuring that government policies on import guidelines and procedures are effectively implemented”.

The high point of the visit was formal presentation of a copy of ANLCA’S monthly Newspaper, ‘Customs Brokers Voice’ to the CAC by Hon Nwabunike.

That was not all.
ANLCA President and his loyal supporters also visited Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), TinCan Complex, where he met the Port Manager, Mr Anji Ibrahim, who expressed great pleasure for the visit, even as he promised to work with the chapter executive to enhance growth of the sector.

Other agencies visited include Directorate of State Security within the Command, Port Police Command, where Hon Nwabunike met the Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, D. K. Garba, who called for greater working synergy to promote economic growth and national security.

The tour, which paved way for introduction of ANLCA Exco to all the agencies concerned, climaxed in a chat with Journalists, where Nwabunike expressed optimism that issues raised about cargo clearance and their businesses will receive desired attention.
