As Aniebonam becomes Grand Fellow of Transport Institute

It was a moment of encomiums for the Founder, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr Boniface Aniebonam, yesterday, as he was decorated the Grand Fellow, Institute of Transport and Management Technology (ITMT).

The event, which took place at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos, brought reputable stakeholders from the maritime industry, freight forwarders, Licensed Customs Agents, members of CRFFN, Executive members of ANLCA-led by the National President, Hon. Tony Iju Nwabunike, top government functionaries, NAGAFF officials, the media and well wishers from all walks of life.

In a chat with reporters at the programme, Hon. Nwabunike described the NAGAFF Founder as a GURU in the maritime industry.

His assertion : “Whenever I mention a GURU in the industry, Dr Aniebonam is the GURU, I am referring to. He has used his life, time, energy, ability and resources to build the freight forwarding sub-sector.
His contributions to the maritime industry in Nigeria are indeed enormous”.

“This honour bestowed on him by the Institute is well deserved. This is recognition earned by merit of hard work and commitment.
We are really proud of Dr Aniebonam. That is why, we are here to honour him as well”, Nwabunike emphasised.

Also speaking, the former National President of NAGAFF, Dr Eugene Nweke, described Dr Aniebonam as INTELLECTUAL POWER HOUSE.

Nweke, stressed that Dr Aniebonam has impacted positively on a lot of lives within and outside the maritime industry.

In the same vein, Prof Oni, a lecturer with University of Lagos, described Dr Aniebonam as a potential leader and a personality with numerous accolades.

The President, Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, described Dr Aniebonam as a GREAT LEADER, who takes delight in helping the less privileged in the society.

He enthused :
“Dr Aniebonam is a friend of the media. I am the first Journalist who announced the birth of NAGAFF many years ago. Since then, Dr Aniebonam has worked tirelessly in building NAGAFF to what it is now.
Today, we are all proud of NAGAFF and the Founder”.

In his acceptance speech, Dr Aniebonam thanked the Institute for the honour. He expressed readiness to work with the Institute.

Speaking further, he advised up-coming freight forwarders to embrace education, in order to operate in line with global standards.

Recall that Dr Aniebonam is the third Nigerian after Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni (rtd.) and the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd.) to receive the Grand Fellow of the Institute.
