MAJAN National Maritime Summit :

• Ohuabunwa leads discussion on finding lasting solutions to Apapa gridlock

The President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria will lead eminent Nigerians and maritime stakeholders in proferring lasting solutions to the perennial traffic gridlock on Apapa ports access roads.

Ohuabunwa, the former Chairman of Nigerian Economic Summit Group, would present the lead paper on, ‘The Travails of Manufacturers through Apapa Ports’, at the Maritime Summit slated for April 14-15, 2021 at Rockview Hotel, Apapa.

The President, Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, disclosed this while addressing Journalists, yesterday at Apapa Lagos,

According to him: “the summit would find creative solutions to the gridlock in the face of a unique and challenging problem to the maritime industry.”

Ray Ugochukwu, who is also
the Editor-in-Chief of the Powerful Pen Newspaper, published by MAJAN, urged Industry stakeholders and all Port users to accord maximum support towards the hosting of the event.

More so, the Summit earlier slated for March 25 -26, 2021, was rescheduled for April 14-15, 2021, to enable more maritime stakeholders indicating interest, to be part of the unique event.

Dignitaries to grace the summit include Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa;

Industry experts include the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman; Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration & Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh; Director General, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Mallam Farouk Salim; the Managing Director of LADOL, Dr. Amy Jadesimi; Managing Director of NIWA, Dr. George Moghalu; the President General, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju; freight forwarders; terminal operators and logistics managers, among others.

The Summit organised by MAJAN is expected to kick-off at 10 am prompt daily.
