Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, the President, Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), has congratulated Hadiza Bala Usman, on her re-appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), for a second term of five years.
Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, who is a seasoned Journalist and Editor-in-Chief of the Powerful Pen Newspaper, described her re-appointment as an honour well deserved.
He said that the reappointment will give her opportunity to continue to deliver the dividend of democracy through the agency.
He believes that her re-appointment will also ensure continuity in policies implementation geared towards development of the port Industry in Nigeria.
He mentioned the perennial traffic gridlock on ports access roads as one of the major tasks before NPA.
He further called on port users and relevant stakeholders in the maritime Industry to support NPA in ensuring that the port Industry is well re-positioned for greater productivity.
Above all, “As a regulatory agency in the maritime Industry, NPA is saddled with enormous tasks and stakeholders must work in synergy with the Authority to move the Industry forward”, he advised.
