ANLCA President, Hon Nwabunike applauds Powerful Pen Media on Special Congress

* Says ports access roads traffic taking its toll on maritime trade

The National President, Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Hon Iju Tony Nwabunike has expressed his displeasure on the perennial traffic gridlock along ports access roads, hindering free movement of goods.

He made this assertion while receiving the current edition of Powerful Pen Newspaper, a tabloid published by Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN).

According to him, the lingering gridlock on Apapa axis is taking its toll on maritime trade, thereby slowing down growth of the sector.

Speaking further, Hon Nwabunike commended the Powerful Pen Media Chapel, on its just concluded special Congress that focused on Apapa gridlock and Skyrocketing Inflation in the country.

He also applauded the current leadership of MAJAN under the watch of Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, as the President, describing him as a visionary leader.

He stressed, “The effort by MAJAN in organising such a successful programme, most importantly focusing on Apapa traffic gridlock, which is affecting not only port operations, maritime trade but the entire economy of Nigeria, is highly commendable.

“In fact, the courage to choose such a sensitive and critical issue is a very good initiative.

“The Maritime Industry is facing a lot of challenges and the truth must be told, like what MAJAN just did with the issue of this perennial gridlock on our ports access roads.

“It shows that your President is leading you well, with the right approach to toe the line of hard work and creativity.

“You see, I have known your President, Ray Ugochukwu for over 20 years and he is among theJournalists I respect so much in the maritime industry.

” He has a quiet and gentle personality but highly knowledgeable”.
