ANLCA says Hadiza Usman deserves reappointment as NPA boss

It will sustain port sector reforms – Hon Tony Nwabunike

The National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Hon.
Tony Iju Nwabunike, has expressed satisfaction on the reappointment of Hadiza Bala Usman, for a second term of five years, as Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

ANLCA President described her reappointment to the Authority as a position well deserved.

“Hadiza Usman, deserves this reappointment from President Muhammadu Buhari, because of her performance. So far, she has done well”, he enthused.

According to him, her reappointment will sustain various reforms that are already on-going in the port sector.

He pointed out, “For instance,
measures put in place to tackle issues of congerstion at seaports and most importantly, gridlock on ports access roads. We must realise that the tasks in the ports industry are enormous.

“Her reappointment will pave the way for her to continue addressing various challenges affecting trade facilitation in the industry, in order to enhance tangible growth in maritime trade.”

Aside from reappointment of NPA Boss for second term, President Buhari reconstituted the Board of NPA, as well as Transmission Company of Nigeria.

The press statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, stated, “President Buhari has approved the re-appointment of Hadiza Bala Usman as Managing Director of NPA for an additional five-year tenure. Also approved is reconstitution of the Non-Executive Board of NPA, with Mr Emmanuel Olajide Adesoye (from South/West zone) as Chairman.

“Other members of the Board are Ekenyem Nwafor-Orizu (South-East zone), Akinwunmi Ricketts (South-South Zone), Ghazali Mohammed Mijinyawa (North/East Zone), Mustapha Amin Dutse (North-West zone), and Abdulwahab Adesina (North-Central zone).”
