Fake lubricants : SON Seals Plaza at Lagos trade Fair complex

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON, has uncovered and sealed a plaza located at Lagos Trade Fair Complex, for adulterating lubricant products.
The Agency also seized lubricants and packaging materials worth millions of Naira found in the plaza.
That was not all. The operatives of SON swiftly arrested two suspects in connection with the seized substandard lubricants.
Financial Business Correspondent, gathered that the operation was carried out under the supervision of
SON’s Coordinator of Surveillance, Intelligence and Monitoring Unit, Isa Sulieman.
According to him, the two suspects were caught in the act, while others escaped the moment they sighted SON’s operatives approaching the scene.
Isa frowned at illegal act of adulterating lubricants, stressing that it could lead to break down of engines and accidents, if not checked.
He emphasised that SON, as a regulatory Agency of the Federal Government remains totally committed to ensuring that locally manufactured lubricants, as well as other products meet required standards, in order to ensure safety at all times.
