In reality, the National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Hon Iju Tony Nwabunike, is bringing fresh impetus and intelligence to bear on activities of ANLCA.

He demonstrated this
by putting measures in place to reposition ANLCA, in order to boost productivity in the maritime sector of the economy.

The current National Executive Committee (NECOM) of ANLCA under the leadership of Hon Nwabunike, has just set up a Compliance Team to monitor activities at the seaports.

Nwabunike disclosed this during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election of new Board members, which took place at Concord hotel, in Owerri, Imo State, on December 16, 2020.

He informed that, Alhaji Lameen Aliyu, the Managing Director of
ICA Logistics Limited is the Coordinator of ANLCA’s Compliance Team, while
Emmanuell Onyeme, the
Managing Director of
AUG Nigeria Limited, is the Secretary.

Most importantly, he revealed that ANLCA’s Compliance Team will work in partnership with National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), to sensitise freight forwarders and ensures that cargo clearance follows the right process, in order to enhance ease of doing business in the maritime industry.

Like NAGAFF, operatives of ANLCA’s Compliance Team will have official uniforms to use when on duty at the ports.

Recall that recently, Hon Nwabunike and his Exco members were at NAGAFF headquarters, on a working visit, even as ANLCA formed a formdiable alliance with NAGAFF to tackle factors militating against growth of freight forwarding sub-sector in Nigeria.

Speaking further, Nwabunike described members of NAGAFF as reputable professionals who have what it takes to work with ANLCA in moving the industry forward.
