New CAC, Chado Kolo takes over Ogun -1 Command

* Lauds Comptroller Agbara on giant strides

Comptroller Peter Chado Kolo, yesterday, November 25, 2020 took over as the new Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Ogun-I Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command (PRO), HAMMED BUKOYE OLOYEDE, made this known to reporters in a press release.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony yesterday, Comptroller Kolo commended his predecessor, Comptroller Michael Agbara for his outstanding performance, giant strides in anti-smuggling activities and the successes recorded so far, despite the volatile nature of the border community.

The new Controller urged Officers and Men of the Command to double their efforts, in order to sustain the fight against smuggling beyond the feats recorded by his predecessor.

He called for high level of compliance to Customs procedures and fiscal policies among trading stakeholders.

The CAC also admonished Officers to be disciplined in their conduct during the discharge of their statutory responsibilities, even as he directed all Officers to be diligent and abide by the rules of engagement while relating with the public.

He appealed to stakeholders including other security agencies to cooperate with him and support his administration while promising to consolidate on the existing synergy between the Command and other agencies .

He warned smugglers and anyone with criminal tendency to desist from nefarious activities, as tough time awaits economic saboteurs.

However, he assured members of the trading community of his maximum support for legitimate trade.

On the final note, Comptroller Kolo promised to maintain the administrative style and standard left behind by his predecessor.

Also speaking, the former Area Controller, Michael Agbara, welcomed the new CAC.

He thanked Officers and Men of the Command, as well as stakeholders including other security agencies for their support during his tenure.

He solicited for greater cooperation for the new Controller.
