Show compliance, integrity – ACG Zone ‘A’ tells officers

The Zonal Coordinator of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone ‘A’ , ACG Kaycee Ekekezie has advised newly promoted Comptrollers in the Zone to ensure compliance in carrying out their statutory functions at all times.

She also urged them to keep integrity, in order to make the Service and Nigerian nation proud of them.

The ACG said this during decoration of promoted Comptrollers in Zone ‘A’.

She enthused, “When you maintain integrity, your families, communities, Customs and the whole Nigerian nation will be proud of you.

Speaking further, ACG Ekekezie emphasised the need for promoted officers to ensure appropriate use of Customs procedures in all their operations.

She stressed, “There are procedures in all Units of Customs. There are procedures in Post Clearance Audit, Customs Police, Anti-corruption unit, Customs Intelligence Unit and other departments of Customs. So, always stick to the right procedures. If you follow the procedures, you will not go wrong”.

She went on, “Be a team leader and carry your subordinates along in doing the work. No one is a custodian of knowledge, except God.

“From today, the level of your career has changed and God will make you excel.

“Remember that our primary duty is to generate revenue for government to grow the economy. You must be ready to track the revenue, notwithstanding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Do your best at all times to justify this promotion. To whom much is given, much is expected.”

The ACG also commended officers in zone ‘A’ for their hard work and resilience. According to her, 10 Comptrollers were promoted in the Zone.

Senior officers who assisted the ACG in the decoration exercise were Customs Area Controller of Apapa Area Command, Compt Abba-Kura, PTML- Compt Okun, Ogun-1- Command-Compt Agbara Michael, Oyo/Osun- Compt Ngozi, the CAC of Seme Border Command, Wada, Western Marine Command- Compt Perers and Compt Oyama, among others.

The programme, which was very unique ended with prayer and group photographs.
