The Customs Area Controller, CAC, of the Command, Comptroller Mohammed Abba-Kura, disclosed this a while ago, when briefing news men on activities of the Command.

He said that the Command collected this whopping sum from January to June, 2020.

He informed, “The revenue collected during this period represents an increase of more than N24billion, which shows 10.59 percent increase when compared to N203.2billion collected the same period in 2019.”

Speaking on anti-smuggling achievements of the Command, he went on, “We seized a total of 142 containers with various items. The Duty Paid Value, DPV, of the seized items is N15.9billion”.

Responding to questions on export trade, he said, “In the area of Export, goods worth N52.3billion, (Free On Board Value, FOB), have been exported from Nigeria within the period under review.

“These exported goods include Agricultural products, mineral resources and steel bars, among others.”

His assertion, “The total tonnage of these goods stood at 1.642 million tons, with FOB value of $171,142,178.99”

The CAC pointed out, “We would not have recorded these feats without the support of our esteemed stakeholders, respective Units, such as Customs Intelligence Unit, CIU, Valuation, Post Clearance Audit, PCA, as well as the support of the Service Management under the leadership of CGC Ali Hameed.”
