*Approval is first time in four years- Says transport Minister

It was good news yesterday for Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, as the Federal Executive Council, FEC, approved N683.6 million for the Authority to purchase new vehicles.
The FEC after due consideration gave the approval for NPA to acquire 19 new vehicles to enhance its operations in the ports.
The Minister of Transport, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, disclosed this to Journalists, yesterday.
According to him, “It was the first time in four years that NPA was given such approval to get new vehicles”.
He added, “The money approved was for purchase of 19 vehicles to enhance port operations in the country”.
The Minister pointed out, “The new vehicles are for port operations and not staff vehicles.”
