Maritime Workers Union is a formidable partner

The President, Association of Nigeria Licenced Customs Agents, ANLCA, Mr Iju Tony Nwabunike has described the role of workers as essential to economic growth and development in Nigeria.

ANLCA President also said that Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, MWUN, as well as other workers as their formidable partners in nation building.

He made these assertions in a
goodwill message sent to the President General, Maritime Worker Union of Nigeria Comrade Adewale Adeyanju.

He went on, “Today, we at ANLCA join the world to celebrate workers in Nigeria and all over the world, particularly you our comrades in the maritime industry.”

He continued, “We celebrate the Nigerian maritime workers today because we owe them more than they are paid. We know that without these workers, maritime nation like ours, will never exist.
We have realised
that without the workers the nation can not grow.”

He stressed, “We in ANLCA see the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria and other workers as our formidable partners.
“We remember your efforts not only in protecting workers’ rights but also in championing the interest of majority of Nigerians.

“Your acts of selfless service are second to none. Your efforts are not unnoticed, as we reminisce on the benefits of your labour for our common good .

“We have on record, many interventions you made in suggesting ideas and policies redirection for government. Often, these are done without Industrial disharmony in the country.

“We celebrate your contributions because without you our desires for greater economy, flourishing commerce, improved social life would remain a mirage.”

He emphasised,
“You are indeed vital human element to our national economic life. There is dignity in what you are doing.

“You are our strength and persons on the frontline of keeping the nation’s seaports working, despite COVID-19 pandemic affecting every sector of the economy, including maritime industry”.
