The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS,
Ports Terminal Multi-services Limited, PTML, Command has realised a huge revenue collection of over N45.4 billion for the Federal Goverment.

The Public relations Officer, PRO, of the Command, Mr
Mohammed Yakubu, made this known.

He informed that the N45.4 billion was generated by PTML Command from January to March, 2020, being the first quarter of the year.

He pointed out, “Revenue generation by the Command in first quarter of 2020, is 24 percent greater than N36.7billion realised the same period in 2019.

“Comparatively, the N45.4 billion collected ftom January to March this year, shows a difference of N8.6 billion from N36.7 billion generated the previous year’.

He stressed that PTML achieved higher revenue collection in 2020, following efforts of the Customs Area Controller, CAC, Comptroller Festus Okun, in repositioning revenue collection strategies of the Command.

The PRO also mentioned increase in volume of transactions as another reason for increased revenue collection in the first quarter of 2020.

More so, Comptroller Okun harps on trade facilitation, urging officers of PTML to remain committed at all times, without compromising standards on government revenue collection.

The CAC promises to make PTML a model port for seamless cargo clearance, even as he assures importers, agents and relevant stakeholders of greater working synergy.
