Despite Coronavirus: Ogun Customs intercepts 1.790 cartons of poultry products in the bush

*Despite the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the entire world and total closure of all land borders in Nigeria, smugglers are still carrying out their naferious activities.
The report reaching us now from Abeokuta, Ogun State, reveals that Ogun Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, has intercepted 1,790 cartons of smuggled poultry products.
Speaking at Abeokuta, where the seized items were destroyed, DC J. Garuba, disclosed that the items were seized from the bush by his men through intelligence.
He also revealed that eight vehicles used in conveying the poultry products were equally impounded.
He explained, “The smugglers passed through the bush but our officers were able to seize the items, and eight vehicles used as means of conveyance.’
He said that Ogun State is a perculiar place because of the border communities and unapproved routes.
He went on, “Despite total closure of land borders due to Coronavirus, the smugglers went through the bush.
“Our officers trailed them through intelligence. On sighting our men, they left the vehicles ard ran away”.
