A day after, the Coordinator, Border Operations Drill, Sector-3 division, Kwara State, Comptroller Mohammed Uba met the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulraham Abdulrazaq, to seek support on anti-smuggling drive, the team visited the Emir of Ilorin.
The Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu Gambari (CFR), was glad to receive Comptroller Uba and his officers.
He expressed great pleasure on what the team is doing in curtailing smuggling within the area, while calling on the Federal Government to put more measures in place to create jobs for the citizens, especially the youths, in order to keep them fully engage in legitimate economic activities.
Comptroller Uba and his team promised to double their effort in carrying out their statutory functions of checking illicit trade.
Uba advised the public to support the border closure exercise, in order to achieve its intended purpose.
