*Records N13million seizures in 2 weeks *Destroys 272 cartons of poultry products

The dare-devil smugglers operating within Western Marine axis must be counting their losses by now, as the new  Customs Area Controller, CAC, of the Command and his men seized foreign rice, 272 cartons of poultry products and other prohibited items worth over N13million in Duty Paid Value.

These seizures were made within two weeks that Comptroller O. Peters took over the leadership of Western Marine Command.

Addressing Journalists at the site where the items were destroyed, the CAC talked tough, warning illicit traders to engage in legitimate businesses, to enhance economic growth, in order to allow sanity in the economic environment.

That was not all.  The CAC also unveiled 466 bags of rice and textile materials seized within the same period.

Comptroller Peters is a real workaholic. Smugglers operating within his area of coverage must repent or be ready to suffer more losses.

Because only two days after chasing smugglers a whole day on waterways, Comptroller Peters just destroyed these  272 cartons of poultry products

His assertion, “We must continue to protect our economy from illicit traders sabotaging government efforts”.

Speaking further, Comptroller Peters disclosed that the items were seized at Badagry creeks

The CAC also showed reporters more bags of rice seized by the Command.
