The Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has intercepted 409.000grams of Tramadol tablets and 9, 400ML of Amphytamine syrup worth over N4.7million in Duty Paid Value, DPV.

The drugs were seized by the anti-smuggling unit of the Command along Elejah-mowo axis of the Command.

The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Command, Mr Hussaini Abdullahi, disclosed this to Financial Business News.

He said that the pharmaceutical products include 782 packets; 630 cards of Tramadol-all of 50grams, which is equivalent to 409,000grams.

He further revealed that the Command under the leadership of the new Customs Area Controller, Chedi Dalha Wada, made these seizures, as well as other prohibited items in just three weeks of operations.

The PRO, who spoke on behalf of the CAC, explained that the Command within the same short period of three weeks, recorded seizures with DPV of more than N19.4million.

The  intercepted items include 275 bags of rice; 9,225 litres of petrol; 11 Jerrycans of vegetable oil; 132 cartons of poultry products and 105 wraps of textile materials.

Others are 12 sacks of used clothings; one sack of shoes; three sacks of used ladies hand-bags; 326 packs of cream; 10 sacks of Egusi; one sack of stock-fish and 30 cartons of Choko drinks.

Wada, who is on Acting capacity stressed that the aforementioned seizures is a strong warning to smugglers and their accomplices.

He promised to sustain the current tempo of anti-smuggling feats, in order to enhance economic growth and development.
