We must ensure strict enforcement of government policies – Deputy Comptroller Wada *Says hard time awaits smugglers at Seme border
Tne new Customs Area Controller, CAC, Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Deputy Comptroller Chedi Dalha Wada, has said the Command under his watch must ensure strict enforcement of government fiscal policies to enhance economic growth and development.
DC Wada, who is on Acting capacity made this known through the Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Command, Mr Hussaini Abdullahi, when he formally took over leadership of the Command from the immediate past CAC, Comptroller Mohammed Uba Garba.
He stressed that the Command will work in tandem with the vision of CGC Ali Hameed to achieve maximum revenue collection for government, suppression of smuggling to the barest minimum and trade facilitation following International best practice.
DC Wada pledged to consolidate and improve on the feats of his predecessor, in order to ensure effective service delivery at all times.
His assertions, “We must work tirelessly to carry out the core mandates of the Service.
“We need the support and cooperation of all Officers and Men of the Command in our daily activities.”
He went on, “We will ensure effective collaboration with stakeholders, as well as other Sister security agencies”.
In his farewell speech, Comptroller Uba advised DC Wada to remain firm and resolute in decision making, so as to effectively discharge his duties.
