It is an honour well deserved and good news for Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, as ACG Bashir Abubakar, an outstanding officer of Customs received Integrity Award, bestowed on him by President Muhammadu Buhari.
ACG Bashir was honoured by the President for his display of integrity and honesty for rejecting N150million bribe offered him by importers of Tramadol worth billions of Naira, to clear the containers of those dangerous drugs.
ACG Bashir displayed this high level of integrity when he was the Customs Area Controller, CAC, of Apapa Area Command.
Recall that this is the second time ACG Bashir is being honoured with Integrity Award for his selfless service to the Nigerian nation.
The first Integrity Award was bestowed on ACG Abubakar by ‘Shipping World’ and the Award was presented to him by the current ACG of Zone ‘A’, ACG Kaycee Okekezie.
More so, it is on record that the tenure of ACG Abubakar as the Customs boss in Apapa Command realised great feats in revenue collection, trade facilitation and anti-smuggling drive.
