Again: Customs at MMAC seizes Military vests, drones, walkie-talkie
.Collects over N47.7 bn in 2019

The Murtala Muhammed Area Command, MMAC, of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has generated a whooping sum of over N47.7 billion for the Federal Government, from January to October 2019.
The Command also recorded eight detentions and seizures for the month of October 2019, with Duty Paid Value, DPV, of ₦34,077,318.69.
The seized items include Military Armored Vests, drones and Walkie-Talkie.
These seizures are made only one month after the same Command intercepted drones of different makes, Walkie-Talkie Radios and Military Armored Vests brought into the country illegally without End-User-Certificate, EUC.
The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Command, Mr Ephraim Haruna made this disclosure.
He stressed that the Customs Area Controller, CAC, of the Command, Comptroller L E Oyama, has greatly enhanced operational effectiveness of officers through her experience and ingenuity brought to bear in every unit of the Command.
He explained, “In the month of October alone, the Command realised over N4.7 billion revenue generation for government. This figure represents 109.6 percent of the expected revenue target for the month of October 2019, exceeding the monthly target with N412,477,611.00”.
He informed, “Also, from January to October 2019, the Command collected N47,757,823,787.00 billion (N47.7 billion), as against N44,094,902,247.00 billion (N44 billion), realised the same period in 2018”.
He pointed out, “This figure represents 110.7 percent of the expected revenue target from January to October 2019, exceeding January to October collections of 2018 with N3,662,921,540.00 billion (N3.6 billion)”.
Speaking further, the PRO commended the leadership quality of Comptroller Oyama in running the Command.
