NDLEA lauds Seme Customs on drugs seizure, anti-smuggling feat

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has commended Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, for partnering with the Agency to curtail drugs smuggling at the border area.
The O/C of NDLEA at Seme, Mr Udotong Essien gave this commendation when Seme Customs handed over three suspected drugs smugglers and parcels of hard drugs seized to the Agency for further investigation.
The NDLEA official asserted, “Seme Customs has done a lot in seizing and handing over hard drugs, as well as the culprits for investigation and prosecution.
“We appreciate the synergy and harp on the benefits derived from the cordial inter-agency relationship that has aided both Agencies to continue the robust collaboration. We promise to continue giving feedback on the progress made towards the prosecution of suspects”.
In his remarks, the Deputy Comptroller of Enforcement, Seme Customs, DC Rasheed Adahunse, who handed over the hard drugs and three suspects to NDLEA, on behalf of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Uba, said the Command would continue to partner NDLEA in the battle against drugs peddlers sabotaging the health and well-being of the Nation.
He revealed that the suspects, Mr Godwin Edet, Azeez Ogungalobu and Chidume Kingsley were arrested at Gbaji checkpoint within Seme Command, during Routine Stop/Search operation, and eight parcels of Cannabis Sativa were found on them.
Also, Seme Customs destroyed 199 cartons of seized poultry products in the presence of other sister agencies serving at the border post, as shown on the pictures.
