Full compliance imperative in trade facilitation, Says Comptroller Oyama

The new Customs Area Controller, CAC, Murtala Muhammed Area Command, MMAC, Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Comptroller L E Oyama, has called on importers, exporters, agents and other stakeholders operating within the Command to ensure full compliance with government fiscal policies on trade, stressing that compliance is imperative in trade facilitation to ensure global best practice.

She made this assertion during her first working tour of the Command, which covered the government warehouse, export department of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (Sahco), Sacho shed, courier unit and DHL operations office.

Our correspondent observed that during the tour, Comptroller Oyama interacted with departmental Heads of the companies visited, even as she asked questions on various aspects of their operations.

She expressed readiness to ensure greater synergy with relevant stakeholders, emphasizing the need for correct documentation, honest declaration at all times, in order to boost revenue generation for government.

In the same vein, the Assistant General Manager of Sahco Cargo Services, Mr. Olajide Kafidipe commended Comptroller Oyama and her officers for the visit, saying his company will continue to operate in line with government rules on trade matters.
