APFLON Commends Federal Government of Nigeria on Boeing 737 MAX 8 Aircrafts Ban

The African Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFLON),hereby expresses her grief over the ill fated Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 that crashed on the 10th of March 2019, killing all the 157 passengers and crew members  on board.

We recalled that Flight 302 crash is the second fatal accident of an Ethiopian Airlines aircraft this decade after Flight 409 in January 2010. This ugly incident has fueled mixed reactions across the globe, prompting the ban on Boeing 737 Max 8 aircrafts by quite a number of countries.

We hereby commend the Federal Government of Nigeria for taking precautionary measure, by placing a ban on the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircrafts on her airspace.

We at APFLON as advocacy group hereby appeal to the Federal Government of Nigeria and to the Nigerian Aviation Authority to enforce this punitive measure to the later, so as not to jeopardise the lives of Nigerians and that of other Nationals.

More so, APFLON wants to believe that the story that the Federal Government is considering allowing the use of Boeing 737 Max 8 Aircrafts for cargo lifting is untrue, even as APFLON expresses fear over this information, which of course we  would want to assume is a mere rumor. We ask the Nigerian Aviation Authority to ensure total compliance to avoid further loss of lives.

On this note, APFLON, with a deep sense of concern condoles with the Government of Ethiopia and other nationals who lost their loved ones in that ugly incident. We pray God Almighty to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
