Facts on Apapa Customs press conference below:

 The Apapa Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has recorded impressive performance in revenue collection, as the Command raked a whooping sum of N404billion into the coffers of the Federal Government in 2018.

The Command also realised N73.1billion from 1.2million metric tons of exported goods and N9.6billion from 72 seizures.

The Customs Area Controller, CAC, of the Command,  Comptroller Bashir Abubakar, disclosed these outstanding records to Journalists during press briefing at the Command, yesterday.

Comptroller Bashir, explained, “The N404billon when compared to the yearly revenue target of N426.1billion given to the Command represents 95percent collection. This shows that the Command in 2018, collected N53billion above 2017 revenue generation. This clearly indicates an increase of 13.13percent over what the Command generated in 2017 fiscal year.”

Interestingly, Comptroller Bashir honoured five officers with awards of excellent performance during the press conference. The officers include Assistant Comptroller B. Ahmed, Assistant Comptroller F. M. Ojeifor, CSC U. A. Iliyasu, SC P. Odangla and ASC 1 A. B. Zarma.
