Comptroller Agbara receiving the WCO Award from CGC Ali:

The Customs Area Controller, CAC, Ogun Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Comptroller Agbara Ojobo Michael, said his Command is on red alert over incessant attacks on officers by smugglers operating along idiroko axis, the border between Nigeria and Benin Republic.

Comptroller Agbara frowned at the nefarious act by smugglers within Idiroko border communities, stressed that the Service will leave no stone unturned at ensuring that the culprits involved in recent killing of an officer on duty, attached to Ogun Command are prosecuted according to the law.

He stated emphatically that intimidation and harassment by illicit traders sabotaging government’s effort in growing local industries cannot deter them from carrying out their statutory functions.

The Ogun CAC pointed out, “We have a responsibility to facilitate legitimate trade, generate revenue for government and carry out anti-smuggling operations. As such, we are not deterred by the antics of smugglers.

In the same vein, Comptroller Agbara expressed great pleasure on the World Customs Organisation, WCO, Award given to his Command at the just concluded International Customs Day, in Abuja.

He thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Hameed Ali for finding his Command worthy of such honour, even as he promised to do more in enforcing the fiscal policies of government in Ogun Command.

His assertion, “I am thanking CGC Ali for this great recognition. I equally thank all officers and men of Ogun Command for their hard work and dedication to official duties. We will continue to do our best in carrying out our assignments effectively”.
