FRSC working hard to ensure safe motoring- Says Bakare
The Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Badagry, Adeshina Bakare has assured motorists and other road users of the readiness by FRSC to ensure safe motoring this festive period.
The Unit Commander emphasised that FRSC under the leadership of Corps Marshal Boboye Oyeyemi, has put in place adequate measures to guarantee safe motoring during the yuletide.
Bakare who was promoted recently to the rank of Deputy Corps Commander, DCC, made this known while lecturing motorists, motorcycle riders and other stakeholders on the need to drive with caution, especially without being under the influence of illicit drugs or alcohol for the sake of their loved ones.
Bakare gave the lecture at the Command’s Conference Hall in Badagry, Lagos, on the theme, ‘Life has no duplicate’.
He admonished drivers to adhere strictly to traffic rules and obey officers assigned to enforce adherence of these rules for free flow of traffic, in order to avoid accidents on the roads. He also advised them to put their vehicles in good shape before embarking on any journey.
The Badagry Unit Commander warned those who take delight in making night trips to desist, due to poor state of some roads and security issues. ” We have deployed enough men to make sure Nigerians have smooth journey all through the yuletide. I am glad to inform you that it has been an accident free celebration so far in our Command”, he informed.
Commending the good works of Commander Bakare, Mr. Paul Okorie, a participant at the workshop, scored him high on enlightenment campaign in the Unit, particularly on frequent workshops organised since he assumed office and the benefits of such programmes to all road users.
Bakare has listening ears, no wonder the entire community found him worthy for the conferment of Chieftaincy title in recognition of his numerous achievements.
More so, our investigation revealed that the usual traffic experienced at strategic locations of Badagry is now a thing of the past.
