Immigration boss lauds Seme Customs on massive seizures
.Condemns human smuggling through land borders

The Controller of Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, at Seme border, Mr. Dominic Asogwa, has commended Nigeria Custom service, Seme Area Command for the massive seizures recorded by the Command in the last two months at the border region.
He gave this commendation at the press conference, organised by Seme Customs at ECOWAS Joint Border Post between Nigeria and Republic of Benin.
The Immigration boss described the Customs Area Controller, CAC, of Seme Customs as intelligent and hard working officer, whose experience in Customs operations brought about the feat recorded by the Command in a very short period of his leadership.
Dominic said, “You can see the number of seizures made in only two months. Seme is the busiest border within the West African sub-region. So, what you are witnessing here today shows that Seme Customs CAC is working tirelessly to protect our economy from influx of prohibited items”.
He went on, “We will continue to partner with Customs and other security agencies at Seme border, as we work in line with the policies of the Federal Government to protect our economic environment from activities of illicit traders.
In the same vein, the Immigration boss also condemned in totality human smuggling through land borders, saying it is a crime against humanity.
His assertion, “Human smuggling through land borders is a serious crime and we must work in synergy to curb the menace’.
