Lagos Chamber of Commerce empowers 49 entrepreneurs

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, has concluded plans to hold graduation ceremony for 49 young entrepreneurs, who successfully participated and completed the 2018 edition of its annual Mentoring Programme.
According to LCCI, these young entrepreneurs would be unveiled and presented with certificates of participation as well as completion of the annual project
The Graduation Ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 22, 2018 in Lagos. The programme would also feature exhibition of products and services by the graduating Mentees.
The Director General of LCCI, Mr. Muda Yusuf made this known.
He said, “The LCCI continues to wax stronger in its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, especially in development of youth, Small and Medium Enterprises, SMEs, and the business community at large through its mentoring program”.
The Director General further stressed, “The Mentoring programme is a strategy for positive youth development. It also serves to reduce unemployment in our society. The 2018 edition is the 6th in the series and LCCI would continue to strive in building the nation through development of future captains of industry.”
Yusuf also explained that relevant agencies and departments of Government would grace the occasion to provide relevant information for the graduating Mentees, in order to compete favourably with their counterparts across the globe.
He stated that the ceremony would be presided over by the President of LCCI, Mr. Babatunde Paul Ruwase, FCA and other dignitaries from the Chamber and Government functionaries.
The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the premier chamber of commerce in Nigeria. Founded in 1888 and incorporated in 1950 as a non-profit making organization. The LCCI promotes, supports or opposes legislative or other measures affecting trade, industry, commerce and agriculture. The LCCI has over 2,000 registered members and is well known for its annual ‘Lagos International Trade Fair” launched in 1977.
