BPE to generate N300bn for 2018 budget

The Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, is putting measures in place to generate a whooping sum of N300 billion for the 2018 budget, in order to enhance income flow for government to run the economy.

The Director General of BPE,  Alex Okoh disclosed this  yesterday, at a Stakeholders’ Media Interactive Forum on the privatisation programme of the Federal Government.

According to him, the BPE plans to generate N300 billion for the 2018 budget through sale of some national assets.

He stated, “These national assets include Afam Power Plant in Rivers State, Geregu, Calabar and Omotosho National Independent Power Projects, re-privatisation of the Yola Distribution Company, River Basin Development Authorities and the National Parks”.

He added, “142 companies have so far been privatised since the inception of the privatisation programme of government”.
